Business Description

Hands is a luxury handmade carpet house founded in 1881, when A. Tellery came upon a community of gifted weavers in Bhadohi, near Varanasi. The Patodia family took the business forward from the 1980s and built it into a global brand. Every carpet is still made by hand in Bhadohi. The range covers hand knotted wool and silk rugs, hand tufted carpets, kilims and dhurries, in contemporary, modern and traditional design, and any piece can be made to order in a custom size, colour or design. Hands works with architects, interior designers and private clients, and its work is installed in royal palaces, luxury hotels and private homes across five continents. The Indian head office and flagship showroom are in Sultanpur, New Delhi, with a second showroom in Worli, Mumbai, and partner stores in Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Raipur.
